How Do You Get Inspired?

HOLA!

Today I decided to dedicate this post to a question I tend to get a lot. “How do you get inspired?” That being a loaded question, I wanted to share a particular way.

One of the ways I get inspired is… browsing beautiful work of art & saving them. When I pin or screenshot an image, many times I use it as just that — Inspiration. It stimulates my mind and strengthens creativity.

I either look for colors, lovely usage of negative space, design of any category, movement and anything else in between that catches my eye. I try to gather as much beautiful images as I can to inspire me which ultimately sends me off to my own creative flow.

In a way it’s like I create my own little digital gallery of beauty.

Next time I will share so many other ways I get inspired.

Spring Colors 2021

Hola!

Bonito had an Instagram LIVE about Spring Colors yesterday. Thanks to everyone who voted for this topic. I was so inspired by spring’s color hues and motivating season. For those that missed it here is a brief overview.

Four colors where chosen because they are all great for any type of event during the spring (baby showers, birthdays, bridal showers, weddings, engagements, etc..)

Here are the 4 colors:

• Lemon Zest / Illuminating Yellow

• Powder / Baby Blue

• Pistachio / sage Green

• Lavender / Lavender Garden

What I also love is they can be combined with other colors (such as blush colors or greenery) or simply go with a monochromatic color scheme and just add different hues.

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY

A little rain don't hurt nobody. Well, in our case it does, specially when it pours.

Yes, it poured on our party date. Fortunately, we had options. As you can see we moved the outdoor party indoors. Phew! Right!

Because you are all my beautiful supporters, followers and clients I decided to write a few tips for you all.

Bonito Tips:

When deciding on doing your party outdoors you must remember that you are playing with a risk of the weather changing over night. You just can't control the climate. Unless you have powers then please give me a call asap.

Always have a rain date or a Plan B. Tents, a covered outdoor area, Indoor option and/or another date. This would help you have less stress and also keep your guests informed and prepared if weather changes.

Plan B Options:

Indoors - make sure the space is as big as the outdoor. You need to accommodate your guests the same way.

Rain Date - postpone it for a better climate and have the party exactly as envisioned.

Tents/Coverage -  this is a good option because this would be the only change made. However, keep in mind that if it pours the floor or grass will be wet. Also, the look will change a bit.

Hola! Today I am sharing this Adorable and Delicious Marshmallows from Squish Marsh! They are the perfect bite size and come in all different flavors. Pastel Birthday Party

Oh, the joy of creating a birthday party with Pastel Colors! Creativity is endless when you are inspired!

My inspiration came from the love of Pastel Colors. I think they just brighten up a room and automatically screams pretty.  Plus, it's a summer party and wanted to keep it modern and lively. Incorporating balloons was the best design element! It really tied in this pretty look together so well!

Hope you love this party as much as I loved styling it!

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL MY CLIENTS & FOLLOWERS:

Thank you sooooo much for the continuous support! Below are a few tips that may help you when planning a small party and need to DIY.  The tips are cross reference to the party above :)

How to successfully style a small party without stress? (well, that's the goal, so hope this helps)

TIPS:

Get Desserts Locally: The cake and cupcakes were from a supermarket and I just added artificial flowers on them. (remember this is a kids birthday party that you want to do 123) The important part is to display them nicely.

No Linen: Used tables that were good to go without the need of linens.

Balloons: All from Party City. Easy Breezy.

Artificial flowers: A trip to Micheal's would solve that problem.

*Always take a stroll to HomeGoods or Target to see what you can find. I luckily found those pastel party paper plates and utensils.

Cake Stands: Owning clear or white cake stands that you can reuse it always the way to go in my book.

Optional:

Macaroons and Donuts: were a must so that I got from specific places. (Credited below).

Get Flowers Locally: Well, this part is optional. I added them in because my idea was already set on getting flowers for this look, but you can totally do without it.

RUSTIC GARDEN BABY SHOWER

A Rustic Garden Baby Shower to Welcome Baby Justin! Loved the romantic feel and style my client requested specially for a Baby Boy Shower. Yes, It's a Boy Shower with Elegance.

This lovely Mommy-to-be, currently Mommy, had this baby shower themed all envisioned. To make her vision come to life we worked with Diva Blooms who just rocked it with gorgeous Flower Arrangements, Welcome sign and backdrop draping with greenery. The breathless naked cake from Magdeline's Cake and delicate desserts from Juliana Sugar Shop gave the dessert table such amazing touches. We added candles everywhere to create the perfect mood. 

To stick to the Rustic Style we used burlap, tree slices, birch slaps, wood, twine, crates, lanterns and greenery for our main decor. The final product was a room that radiating beauty.

We want to send a huge Congratulations to Jenn and Justin who just became parents this past weekend! Hello Baby Justin! XOXO

BONITO VALENTINE

Bonito is virtually sending love back to you all for your continuous support. All these ideas that we are sharing on InstaStories, Instagram and the Blog is to spread love to you all and inspire you this Valentine.

Look how cute & simple this outdoor setup is! It's a fun way to make a pretty presentation in a relax environment. The backdrop on it's own is beautiful so I forced myself not do anything else.

A good amount of my client's Events are last minute believe it or not. So, I really wanted to demonstrate a super duper easy way to decorate a valentine party. Just a simple run to Target or HomeGoods and you should be good for a last minute fiesta!

VALENTINE MINI TARGET HAUL: All I did was go to the Target $1 section where I purchased the vday runner, cubes, straw arrows and paper airplanes. oh, and the napkins and plates from HomeGoods.

Why the bench idea... Well, I decided that why not give use to what is around and give it an unexpected twist. Never knock down a unconventional idea :)

REINVENT

NEW YEAR / BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION, ME / SISTER TIME AND REINVENTING BONITO'S Goals. A good mix in this sunny trip!

As much as I would have liked the days to be Rose all Day or Beach all Day, I think my phrase was Work All Day instead. Truthfully I needed a get away to focus on them goals.

Super thankful for this trip and the time I had to reinvent ideas and ability to meditate with a mix of fun. Still brewing though...

I will be blogging more about the bday celebrations with some pretty photos of course.

Yay, Happy New Year! First Post of 2017.

We are so excited for 2017! Our Goals are getting bigger and definitely working harder. However, one of the goals that will remain is to keep sharing happy, unique and beautiful Events! On that note, we have added a few EVENTS on the site make sure take a look.

Oh, how I love flowers! Well, today's post is simply for the art of blooms.

The mix of flowers always has me gaga. These beautiful flowers were gifted by a darling amiga, for a PRE-birthday celebration I had. Totally in love and wanted to share them with you too.

Small Celebrations

Bonito understands that small gatherings / parties / events for any occasion need love too!

As an Event Stylist and Creative Director of Bonito Design, I get opportunities to work with many lovely clients. Not all of our Events are the same in size nor concept. However, we style and plan every event with much passion and love no matter it's size. 

Small celebrations are as much fun to style. We have styled dinners for small groups and love how intimate our decor plays a part of their special day. Details are always a biggie in our events and even more at a smaller events. We get to focus more on the details and have more room to personalize for the client's special day. We LOVE it all!

Sharing a pretty display I styled for our Mom this Mother's Day!

She loves the color white, flowers & NYCakePops! (So that was easy and yes, I get it from her). The main color was white adding color here and there. As I mentioned on my Instagram mi madre is a huge supporter and floral queen for Bonito. Celebrating her here and always my Queen B.
